So I am officially awful at blogging! I cannot even keep up with my own life let alone document it on a regular basis! But once again I will try to cram in the last few weeks! We went to Gettysburg and it was so amazing! I absolutely loved it and I've decided deep down I LOVE history! It is just so interesting to me! After Gettysburg we went to Harpers Ferry and it was so neat. It was such an amazing view and we learned all about the infamous John Brown! The next week was INSANE on the hill. The Senate was supposed to be out of session, but because of the economic crisis we stayed in session and handled the "bailout" situation. Constituents were calling like mad, and everyone was running a million miles a second! One day I worked from 9 am to 10:30 pm! That was the night of the actual vote in the Senate. It was really neat though because I got to be in the Chamber and watch the vote, so I saw EVERY SINGLE SENATOR (well... besides Kennedy)! Yep.... Obama.... McCain...Clinton...Kerry...Biden... You Name It!! It was the most memorable thing I think I will ever experience! Well, now that congress is out of session and most people are gone working on campaigns in their home states the Hill has definitly died down the last bit! Since we didn't have work yesterday, some friends and I took a weekend trip up to New York! We took the most sketchy bus EVER! We boarded the bus in the middle of an alley in DC and then it broke down so we sat on the side of the highway in New Jersey for 2 1/2 hours! Mind you it was 3 AM, so we were all pretty exhausted by the time we actually got to the city, but it was SO MUCH FUN! We stayed at the Sheraton right in Times Square, so it was a really good location! Brooke and I went to Little Mermaid and Young Frankenstein! We waited in the half-price ticket line and still ended up with second row seats to Young Frankenstein!!! It was so fun to be right by the stage and actually see each facial expression perfectly! We spent a night in Little Italy and had an amazing dinner! We shopped, ate out, played around and had a really great time! We decided the difference between our home and New York is that New York is louder and dirtier! We were kind of glad to get back home to a place we are familar with! Now I'm back to work and busy with papers and applications and all sorts of things! But this weekend I get to go to New York again to be with the BUSHNELLS and I am SO excited I can hardly stand it! I cannot wait to see familiar faces!!
