Washington DC

I'm Definitely new to this whole "blogging" thing, so forgive my ignorance as I have an enormous post and a trillion pictures!

Well, I finally moved to DC, and I absolutely love it! I live right downtown in between Georgetown and George Washington University so it is great! I started work last week and I am having a great time. Its really busy and pretty stressful, but I love it. I have already met tons of senators and am learning more than I ever could have imagined. I miss everyone from home, but it is so crazy here that I don't have anytime to think about it! It is such a new experience being somewhere where no one even knows what Mormons are! There is one other intern in my office and I am the first LDS person she has ever even met or heard of. I got called as the ward missionary, and I feel like there is no better place to have that calling besides the District of Columbia. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for just ordering a coke after work when we go to mingles with free alcohol! My testimony of the gospel has grown so much from being out here. I have realized how important this church is to me, and how strongly I value my standards.
Well, Brooke and I went to the Celine Dion concert last week (hence the excited picture) and it was phenomenal. She is so amazing live, we had a great time. This last weekend we took a trip to Philadelphia and it was so much fun! We got to see the Rocky Statue, Independence Hall, and many many more things. We spent the first night at Valley forge and then went into the city so it was great. We were looking everywhere for someone posed as Ben Franklin for the sake of the "office" and we finally did at an Indian Festival... yeah... really random! I really enjoyed Philadelphia though, and I am looking forward to next weekend when we go to Gettysburg!
Well, this is certainly an adventure and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm beginning to get the hang of things such as wearing flip flops to work and then changing into heels, always washing your hands after the metro, holding onto your bag tight, having a good ipod playlist, carrying endless amounts of band aids for constant blisters, compiling daily "business attires", eating spaghetti-Os and toast every night, walking 5 miles like its no big deal, talking to thousands of random people a day, and having the experience of a lifetime! I love my new home and I'm turning into an East Coast girl!!

I can't believe you didn't tell me about your blog! Maybe you can make mine cute once you're home! So - River asked me tonight "where's Chi-Chi?" I don't think he'll ever get it - I just keep telling him you'll be back for Christmas!
Be safe.
