churchy church

today we went to the hyde park ward because the wards we will normally go to are having stake conference. it was the most fabulous experience ever. the stake president taught our sunday school and mentioned that the stake is represented by over 100 nationalities! he seemed about 28 years old and absolutely incredible. i love the church abroad. london is honestly the most diverse place! we walked to church, and it was pouring raining! (hence the adorable picture) so today has been pretty cold, but since its sunday we've stayed inside and have been studying most the day. this evening we had a fireside by Elder Snow from the seventy. it was such a fun fireside. a brother Donaldson and his wife spoke before Elder Snow and i loved his talk. it was all extremely direct and he laid down the law. that's something i have really noticed when i go abroad- the church seems to be more point blank, and i really really like it.
today was a perfect sunday, and i'm already thinking my time here in london is going to be much too short.
better enjoy it while it lasts.
